Collier County residents can learn real-life tips on how to interact with a friend, neighbor or loved one with dementia.
That’s among the goals of a Collier County Dementia Care and Cure Initiative that’s getting established to help the public gain practical knowledge about dementia and how it impacts families.
Another goal is making the public aware of resources to cope.
A steering committee for the new initiative is chaired by Jaclynn Faffer, president and CEO of the Naples Senior Center. The nonprofit center provides supportive services to 1,400 members, including respite care for caregivers and people with dementia.
