NBC2: Collier non-profit helping residents register for COVID-19 vaccine appointments

A group of seniors who lived through the Spanish Influenza, World War II, the Holocaust, and now the COVID-19 pandemic have rolled up their sleeves.

On Friday, Feb. 26, at the North Collier Regional Park, five centurions got their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Over a period of just six weeks, the Naples Senior Center helped more than 3,000 seniors get the vaccine.

The non-profit realized many don’t have access to technology in order to schedule an appointment, so they teamed up with the Collier DOH to allocate doses specifically for residents 80 years or older.
