Naples Senior Center, a nonprofit organization that provides comprehensive programs and social services for seniors, has received a $50,000 gift from the Celebrity Martini Glass Auction (CMGA). These funds will be earmarked for the center’s food security program for at-risk seniors and veterans within the community.
Naples Senior Center is the only human services agency of its kind, providing “one-stop shop” services addressing the emotional and social needs of seniors in Collier and southern Lee counties. Since opening its doors in January 2014, the organization has seen a surge in the depth and scope of need for comprehensive senior services in this region.
The center’s food security program provides nourishment for individuals over the age of 60 who are at risk of going hungry. This includes a “choice” food pantry that is open by appointment, serving one at a time with confidentiality and dignity. Volunteers also deliver prepared hot meals on a weekly basis to seniors who require such assistance.
